New DrukAir Route Linking Guwahati, Singapore And Paro Set To Open Doors To Exciting Opportunities And More

On 1 Sept 2018, Drukair launched a new route between Paro and Singapore via Guwahati, India.

The target is to provide travellers from North East India, in particular from Assam, non-stop flight to Singapore and back.

The event was part of the celebration of 50 years of diplomatic relations between Bhutan and India.

The launch of the route was announced at the opening of the office of the Royal Bhutanese Consulate General in Guwahati earlier this year.

Details about the flight schedule

From September 29, Drukair flight KB 540 will operate on Wednesday and Saturday. The flight will depart from Paro at 7:30am and land in Guwahati at 7:55am. From Guwahati the flight will depart for its final destinations at 8:35am and land in Singapore at 3:35pm on the same day.

The KB 541 will depart on Thursday and Sunday from Singapore at 6:30am, arrive at Guwahati at 8:30am and depart Guwahati at 9:10am. It will arrive at its final destination at the Paro International airport at 10:30am on the same day.

Exiciting opportunities that this new route will bring

The route is expected to facilitate travel, trade and people to people exchange in Bhutan, Assam and Singapore as well as with other North Eastern states of India. It is expected to provide passengers with a greater range of options according to the press release from Druk Air Corporation limited.

“The new route will also contribute towards strengthening the social, cultural and economic ties between Bhutan, India’s North Eastern States and Singapore,” a press release states.

Drukair currently operates two flights via Guwahati to Bangkok. The new route will be the second flight connecting Paro and Singapore after the direct flight connecting Paro to Singapore was launched on September 1, 2012.
